Getting Started with Game Design & Development

Dreamed of developing your own video games? It is not as hard as you think & most of the tools are free. In this talk Tulsa University Computer Simulation & Gaming Professor Akram Taghavi-Burris, will cover the core concepts of good game design & share tools & techniques for game development.

This will be a 45 - 60 minute talk over game design concepts and some of the free tools available for game development and design. I plan to share links and resources, as well as provide a quick demo of some of the different software and how they work.

Akram Taghavi-Burris is an award winning designer, writer, and educator with over 15 years of experience in computer graphics. Akram has a M.Ed. and currently a member of the Computer Science faculty at the University of Tulsa, teaching Computer Simulation and Gaming. Throughout her career Akram has been awarded several prestigious awards for her work such as the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Award and, the Davinci Fellows Award for innovation in teaching.
