Creating high caliber development teams is one of the most important jobs of any software development leader, but doing so can be a challenge and even a bit esoteric. In this talk we'll cover the does and don'ts as well as show what true "Rock Star" development teams look like. With a passion for software development leadership and with 15 years of software management experience, I have learned a lot of lessons (some more difficult than others) which have led to my success in being able to help create, develop, and (most importantly) retain truly high caliber development teams. In this presentation I will share those keys to success, from what it takes to be a leader ready to support a high caliber software team to how to keep high caliber talent engaged and interested in your organization. We'll explore what great teams really look like and how to know when you have one, as well as how to feed and grow it to something even better. Creating a truly great software development team starts with you.
